To quote The Moody Blues, "Isn't Life Strange?"

Well, Hallelujah! A beautiful day follows a rested night. Never underestimate the value of sleep. It is when the body heals itself. And being rested plays a big role in our outlook on life.Flossie and I watched The Oprah Show, and her guest was Michael J Fox.
He has written a book, "Always Looking Up," [Tales of an Incurable Optimist] and he has a TV Special coming up in May. Michael has been dealing with Parkinson's for a long time, and had to arrange his interview in sync with his medications. Also, a woman was a guest who woke up with a stiff neck, and it progressively got worse and now her head is permanently resting on her right shoulder. So her perspective on life is certainly from a different angle than most of us. Dr Oz was a guest to hel
p explain how the brain works or doesn't work and the resulting symptoms. I am absolutely fascinated with the brain and its capabilities. There's so much that we don't know yet. And then there was some stem cell research discussion. Whew! The possibilites are immense. And yet the medical discussions also related to attitude, resolve, and the effects of these unexpected illnesses. Quite often these unexpected circumstances lead us in a direction that is different than we had planned. But it is also true that there are silver linings that would never have been seen were it not for chance placing us on a different path. What do you think about that?

I get depressed at times (it's a hang over from a catastrophic illness) but I have learned to allow myself so much time to whine. Then it's onward and upward. And no, there isn't always a silver lining but there is life. Have you read my other blog, Mare?

I think attitude is very important. When I get down, I get so tired of myself so I start to count my blessing and before I know it I'm singing. Sleep has a lot to do with attitude, you're right about that!

It's very late and you're reminding me that I need to get myself to bed. I must because I'm actually very sleepy.
I'm in awe of Michael J. Fox and all he is going through.
Thank you for the closing smile. Goodnight.

I have a friend with Parkinson's and she has the most amazingly upbeat attitude. She is always grateful for her friends and blessings.

This is one upbeat article. Michael J. Fox is a miracle in size 9 and a half shoes. His attitude is an inspiration.
I also find you and Flo inspiring.
The giggles were a perfect way to sign off. Thanks for another great read! ...and the reminder that I really DO need to get more sleep...

When I hear from people like you, who can laugh and smile through their troubles, it reminds me of how fortunate I am and how little I really have to complain about.
Thank you.

I always thought Michael J Fox was gifted...Alex Keaton, Marty McFly, Spin City...now he deals with life's curve balls with grace and a positive attitude!
Guess the steady rain here in "paradise" is nothing to whine about!!! Glad it's nice there!!! ;-)
