Six overtimes!!

Six....that's right...6 overtimes...and a WIN!!!!

In the Big East Tournament last night/ this morning, Syracuse went from having a 3 point buzzer beater with 1.1 seconds on the clock...OVERTURNED...to sweating through 6 overtimes, guys fouling out, guys coming off of the bench with very limited experience[21 min]...until 1:30 in the morning when Syracuse was able to win 127-117. I don't know how they managed to come out in Overtime #6 and score enough to win by 10. But don't let that fool you. It was the best, most unbelievable live basketball entertainment that I have ever seen!

My son and I were texting back and forth through all of the overtimes. And Flo woke up at about 1AM and thought I had fallen asleep with the television on. When I told her,

"You're NOT going to believe it, but the Syracuse/ U Conn game is in its 5th overtime!!"

She was astounded, and we talked and laughed until the game was finally over...both of us glad that we didn't have to work in the morning! And feeling good that we were a part of that historic game.

  • AMEN to no work in the morning! I actually BRIEFLY contemplated subbing today. Then I thought about the game coming on at 9 (9:37 truth be told) and deferred to the youngsters. Premonition? Don't know, but as my eyes are burning this am, I'm glad to be home. We, too, were texting and laughing every time the OTs ended in a tie! When regulation ended, of course, we didn't laugh...we cheered as we thought it was won!
    Wonder what tonight will bring???

  • My husband and son who lives in New Mexico will call each other on cellphones throughout a game to cheer with each other. How terrific that you got to do the same thing with your son. They usually bet $1.00 against each other for the Super Bowl, etc.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the game with your son via text. I guess that is sort of like sharing shopping with my daughter as I don't have a son.
