Are you kidding me?

I was channel surfing on this Sunday morning around 1100AM, when Flo [Mom] uttered words that I were ... far out!

You see, I noticed that the movie, 'Three Men and a Baby' was about to begin and I knew that Tom Selleck was one of Flo's favorites. I figured it would be a familiar story and while we watched it, I could also play some hearts, solitaire, and Wordscraper [a generic Scrabble] on my l
aptop. So, I pressed the remote to set the TV to the correct channel expecting a couple hours of peace and calmness. The picture seemed dark, or not as distinct as my TV usually is, and then it happened!! I picked up the TV remote to lighten up the 'contrast' a bit...didn't fix it.

The picture seemed dark, or not as distinct as my TV usually is, and then it happened!! I picked up the TV remote to lighten up the 'contrast' a bit...didn't fix it.Oh, maybe it's the 'sharpness' that needed a little change...didn't help it.
Well, there's still brightness, color temperature, and color tint...nope, nope, and nope!
"That is what I am attempting to do, Mom. Give me a minute."
And Flo spoke the following words ...which have never come out of her mouth that I can remember...
"You need a man to fix it. Can you call a man to come over to fix it?"
"What???To change the quality of the picture on the TV??"
She was not kidding. There were frown lines in her forehead. And her voice went up an octive where she sounds like Edith Bunker. She complained that the words and directives on the bottom of the screen weren't supposed to be there. [While I was adjusting different levels, that was where the left and right ...up and down...'data' was displayed.]
Flossie, ordinarily not an outspoken force, was clearly standing her ground.

So, what did I do?
I called a friend who wouldn't think it was a big deal...yep...yep...
I called a man.

Oh dear! I have to laugh because when I want the technology stuff fixed in the house, it's either my husband or brother I call. If not them, my son-in-law. Sheesh! Nobody calls me.

haha. I know what you mean, Kay. I always leave the tech chores to David! On the other hand, he depends on me to feed him...and to wash his clothes. SO THERE!

so...did the man fix it? I love asking my hubby to open difficult jars or bottles. He feels so manly when they come right off but he always smiles and says...oh you just loosened it. Men do come in handy at times.

Haha, I laughed reading your post, I could just imagine the scene...so similar to many scenes here too...I am really bad at "fixing" things, so I am always asking my husband to resolve all the techno problems with computer and TV. Your readers' comments are great too, all of them. So much fun to come to your blog!

Tom and I both try to "fix" tech things, and I know my way around the TV better than he does. But usually we have to call for tech support, maybe somewhere in India?

This is a stitch!! How many times have I asked a man to do something for me that I probably could have done myself... but, why bother when it's so easy to have a guy do it?
I'm sure Wayne could also prepare his dinner, keep the house tidy and counsel the children with whatever problem they think they're having when they call... He is a psychiatric therapist, afterall... But, he does none of that. I do. I make the Belgian Waffles and scrambled eggs, wash and change the bedsheets, make sure he has clean socks and underwear in the drawer, and bring fresh flowers into the house. He fixes the sound on the t.v., changes the flat tires, chops the wood for the fire, and checks out scary sounds in the middle of the night. It works out.
