It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown is on this evening in the first of the many seasonal 'Charlie Brown and friends' stories. But it's more than the seasonal cartoon broadcast. It's childhood returning for a spell. There's just something about it. I grew up with Snoopy, Woodstock, Linus, Lucy, Pigpen, Peppermint Patti, and the rest of the gang. And I didn't realize that there were no adults in the cartoons until someone pointed it out. Then, as a parent myself, it was a special occasion to pass along to my son. We would have Jer's friends stay overnight and line them up on the couch in their PJ's and watch The Charlie Brown Special. I think it deserves to be right up there with 'As American as apple pie.'
You're a good man, Charlie Brown!!

I enjoy the charlie brown stories and tv shows. Also remember when Sesame street started and how fun and educational it was in a good way. Times have changed too much.

I watch that every year for the same reasons. It wouldn't be Halloween without Charlie Brown...

I know what you mean of the memories. When my children were little the Charlie Brown seasonal stories were always eagerly anticipated and mighty enjoyed. Nice memory job, Happy Halloween week!

I love how the adults don't have voices, they just go "wah wah wah"
I always thought that was how I sounded to my son :)

I'll raise my glass to Charlie and the gang! They ARE as American as apple pie! And as cute and as poignant as kids of flesh and blood are. They entertain us and teach us.

I haven't watched this since my kids were little. I remember flipping past it while changing channels the other night. At the time I thought...ummmmm... wonder is this the same one we used to watch. Great memories!
