A Needed Respit
Flo's caregivers are on a short respit and people managed to convince me that I could not do it by myself.... and so she is staying at a local rehab center for 5 or 6 days. It was difficult for me [an understatement, for sure] and everyone is doing fine. Gracie sat on my shoes after being alone for the day as if to say,
"You are not getting out of here again without me!!"
And this morning, Scout became literally attached to my leg as I listened to my son on the radio and did come computer catch-up.
I guess the animals are putting in their two cents!
Oh yeah, I am their caregiver, too! And they love me, too.

I know this was hard as I feel guilty about my Mother and you know our relationship..I am sure you know that Flo would not want you to feel badly and that you have done a wonderful job under some difficult conditions. Maybe this time will help you to get your symptoms under control and to rest up and maybe to even get a massage...enjoy the birds...hugs..Michelle

you deserve a respite and the change will do your mom good to have others to visit with. Enjoy and don't feel guilty!

Caregivers must care for themselves first. I am sure this must have been difficult. Recharge. Revitalize. Rest.

I'm glad you're getting a little rest too, Mare. It's important for you to take care of yourself too. Those animals know what's best for you.

It's so sweet how those animals love you, just like you love and care for your mother. Enjoy the respite. Be at peace.
