Mother Nature
Every December, I purchase amaryllis plants. It started years ago with just one, and then I saw some variations of the typical red one. I have four in different stages in the process of bursting into flowers. There is one that appears to be doing nothing, two that have two stems with buds, and one looking like the traditional one stem plant...though we don't know what color yet. Watching a plant grow and bloom never ceases to amaze me.
Looking into my dog's face [especially her eyes ] makes me smile and her antics make me laugh. There is so much expression and intensity that many times I wish that she could talk.
Now that the colder weather is here, watching the birds feed right outside the window passes the day along. There's a pair of cardinals that dine together at about the same time each afternoon.
These are a couple/three of Mother Nature's finest. What fascinates you as we share this planet with all living things?
[Nothing particularly profound today...some days are like that.]

I love amaryllises too, will check back to see how they progress...waiting patiently for the beautiful blooms.
I like sky watching, cloud formations fascinate me. It's awesome how they can change right before your eyes.
I just dropped by to say Happy New Year. Hope you have a wonderful 2012!

The pale pink amaryllis bulb I bought a few weeks ago is blooming...red! Still,it's beautiful.
I do wish my cardinals would show up at the feeder. I'm worried.

I love these. I bought one this year, but ended up giving it to my daughter. I hope she planted it.

I used to have an amaryllis every year, but with the low light in my house this time of year they just got so leggy they wanted to fall over. I do love them though. Looks like you got one dud, but two multiples to make up for it!

Every so often students would give me an amaryllis or paper white kit. I loved watching them grow. Then, in spring, I'd plant them in the garden. They are such dramatic flowers. Your flowers are really thriving! Wow! You must have a huge green thumb!
