Tradition!
The earth laughs in flowers. In that case, you could say that our local nursery was hysterical! [haha]
Actually, today we took the short road trip to the local nursery so that Mom could select this year's flowering basket. It has become a yearly tradition that addresses the welcoming of the warmth of spring, the beauty of the colorful flowers, and the active participation of our favorite 'flower picker-outer'... newest addition to our home. [That would be Flo...three years in August.] So many flowers...it was a difficult decision.
So we came home with 2 hanging baskets, and somehow...a wisteria jumped into the cart on the way to the checkout.
The red, white, and blue flowering basket is right outside the picture window hanging out with the bird feeders. The hummingbird feeder has been reattached to the window, and now we wait...all the while commenting:
"You picked 'em out , Mom!
"I did?"
"And I must say that you've outdone yourself this year."
"Well, thank you very much!"

Oh what fun, Mare. I was asking my 3 year old granddaughter what her favorite thing was and she said, "flowers." Could it be because I was taking so many photos of flowers in New Mexico?
This sounded like such a happy expedition-tradition for Flo and you.

Sweet, what a wonderful tradition.
We used to have Wisteria on the side of our house in Ohio. Loved when it would bloom every spring until the neighbors complained and called it the plant from H-ll.
Can you believe that....they got divorced soon after . Tisk, maybe they just didn't see the beauty.
Have a nice weekend with your new beautiful additions!

Today my husband and I went to a local greenhouse to get our summer flowers. Usually I do this alone, but I discovered that he encouraged me to buy more than I normally do, so I must remember to take him along next year. We have a front porch, and the six hanging wave petunias, deep purple, look wonderful out there. I need to hang my hummingbird feeders next, then it's on to planting the vegetable garden. This is such a great time of year. It's wonderful than Flo gets to select your hanging basket each year.
