Lies and Tiger ...who cares? ..Oh my!

Tiger Woods has been in the news for quite a while now. My initial reaction began with disbelief that he was in a car accident...never mind while in altered states followed by the subsequent parade of unbelievable liaisons. [I struggled for that noun.] While I could comment on a variety of 'hot topics' associated with the whole saga, I chose not to editorialize until ...now.
Tiger's Nike commercial was in my opinion...the ultimate example of 'chutzpa'. Give me a break. I found it to be surreal and creepy, disrespectful and twisted, and unnecessary yet calculated. Seriously, exactly what is he grasping for....?
Sympathy? Insight? Or Renewal? [of his commercial cash cow!!]
Now, so far, I hadn't been pushed to the edge with a need to comment. What did it?
While Tiger has been in control of everything [except the BARN DOOR], someone has trumped Tiger's seemingly foolproof plan of returning to his career at the 'tightly supervised' Masters Tournament and all the while being in charge of every aspect of security.
Imagine his surprise when he looked 'up' to the skies and saw this:
I am , in no way , applauding this skywriting as an appropriate or acceptable thing to do.
But I have to admit...I did get a chuckle out of it!!
I found it to be quite clever as an answer to Tiger's controlling forces...kinda like, "Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! It was like outsmarting The Wizard of Oz!!
And there you have it. My one and only editorial on Tiger!
Did you learn anything?

  • I'm with you I was disgusted with Tiger's lack of integrity in his life. Same goes for my ex husband. Infidelity to seems to almost been the norm nowadays.

  • Exactly!!!!! I'm sick of celebrities and their 'peccadilos' (rather than use an Anglo-Saxon barbarism) being paraded in the media. Furthermore, I am sick of the press for insulting our intelligence by feeling that we want to know this stuff.

  • I thought the commercial was creepy. I thought the chairman of the Agusta National Golf Club was hypocritical. I think NIKE is trying to have their cake and eat it too. Tiger is a golfer, for heavens sake. Just let him play golf and get all of the stupid people to shut up.

  • HalleluYAH! It's good to hear others speak up about how weary they have become with hearing about who's hopping into who's bed, and who's going into what re-hab center for the umteenth time, and being forced to watch the teary eyed blathering of a steady procession of over-privileged, over payed, confess their wrongdoings and ask for our understanding and forgiveness". urp, gag. It's not my place to forgive any of them, and I don't understand their complete lack of a moral compass, and I'm up to the gullet with being forced into the Wood's personal and what should be private struggles.

As for the Nike commercial.... Wha??? I don't get it. What is Nike trying to accomplish? Do they think that's going to sell tennis shoes? And Tiger closely resembles a flat line on a heart moniter. He's completely void of all emotion on his face. He looks like a painting.

    I repeat...urp, gag!

  • What the prior commenters said indeed! Enough is enough of this stuff...focus say on feeding children, rebuilding New Orleans or oh say, helping out with education for all as well as healthcare....

  • Mare;

I am so tired of the Tiger Saga.
Having Phil Mickelson win the Masters was the topping on the cake for me.Way to go Phil.
He and his wife hugging after the match was just so dear! He seems to know the value of family.
Note to Tiger...shut mouth, play golf and go far far away!
    Have a good week Mare!
