Thank goodness, it's all behind me now!
This morning, as I came into consciousness and prepared to shower , get dressed, and go...I heard the radio reporting that all schools are closed. It was a snow day!!
Well, I was pretty sure that the roads had to be good enough to travel on to arrive at my out- patient , one-day surgery' hospital appointment. If the words about 'No unnecessary travel i
n the county' had been voiced, I would have sounded the alarm....and gotten there somehow. There would be ....no ...do over on the prep for this appointment.
Fortunately, I have good friends to drop me off, and pick me up, too.
n the county' had been voiced, I would have sounded the alarm....and gotten there somehow. There would be ....no ...do over on the prep for this appointment. And thankfully, today I crossed it off my list of 'Been there...had to do that!
It was my third one in 10 years . And both the prep and procedure were the best of the bunch. Butt[sorry, sometimes I can't stop myself] this time, I'm thinking the 'All Clear' call will get me 5 years off'.
I voiced my opinion about how I would really like to be in altered states.
I voiced my opinion about how I would really like to be in altered states.

"You don't want to watch the monitor?"
"Nah...I think I'll pass."
I am doing the dance of joy as this is now ....history.

horray for being proactive in monitoring your health! the nursing student thanks you! because while you partake in a one day in and OUT procedure, i see way to many patients that are on the one day in LONG time before out procedures because they skipped their tests. besides, it gives you a good story to talk about right? lol

I agree, they are getting better with the prep stuff, and it does feel better once it's over and you have a good report from the doctor.

isn't it a relief!!
the prep is the worst part I think
I remember that when I was put under I woke up feeling oddly refreshed
and I got a shortbread cookie :)
I'm glad it's all clear

Am so glad you had a good report! You ought to be in pictures... (or maybe you are too young to know that song). Do something nice for yourself for being so "good" and especially for getting a good report.

I hate those things, too. "Butt" we have to do them. Don't you feel better though?

I just had my first colonoscopy last month so I understand. The prep is definitely the worst part but I also hate the recovery -- I slept for two days.
The good news is I don't have to go back for 5 years and that the polyp they found was benign.

I've had two, hated the prep, thought the proceedure was nothing in comparison to the getting ready. I'm on a ten year schedule, so I have a long time before the next one.

I'm at the 5 year mark from my last colonoscopy. My primary care manager here asked me if I wanted to do another one as recommended or wait a bit. I opted to wait. I don't mind the procedure BUTT... that prep stuff is definitely poopy to do. Sorry...
I feel really happy for you that's it's all behind you. :-)

I hate that prep and that would have been awful to have to do it again...
