O happy day!
When I think about the time, effort, patience, and tenacity that went into today's most historic event, I amazed at...
where we are today, as a nation.the magnitude of difficulty which faces this new president on Day 1...
the amount of self sacrifice involved in order to assume the leadership
the support of his wife as this monumental change is about to affect absolutely everything in their daily lives...
So, God bless you, Barack, and good luck to you, too.
And thank you for stepping up to the plate when things were looking pretty bleak on so-o many fronts. May the force be with you.

we could say the same thing about any new president who is elected and comes in to carry the burden of leading this country. Remember those who were disappointed when their candidate didn't win and aren't onboard yet. America unfortunately is still divided on many issues like abortion, war, etc. but i join with others in prayers for the success of our new president...and thanks to our old president for his service.

Obama's story is truly a remarkable one. I have every reason to believe he is the best choice we could make for the time we are in. It's not just about quality of character, which he has, but quality of intellect and leadership. We desperately need those qualities.

It's simple for me...if Obama succeds at all that he has in front of him , we'll succeed right along with him.
He's my President.

Wonderful comments Lin. I can't say that I was disappointed when McCain didn't win. He certainly wouldn't have been my first choice... but, I was a tad leary about someone with so little experience taking the helm of America's ship when she's on such stormy seas. He's shown that he lsitens to the counsel of those with more experience and that he's willing to adapt and "change" some of his positions when new information shows that it's wise to do so. I am hopeful. Still a little cautious because we have no checks and balances and that is one of the fundamentals of a smooth and effective government operation... But, I offer him my support and add my prayers to Lin's and Mare's. I raise my glass in a toast to brighter days ahead. clink... To success.
