Once again, the souls in purgatory have flown through the gates!!

Meant as a humorous aside, [the title that is], From my religious education[12 years], we are told that there are souls bound for heaven, but not yet eligible for whatever reason, and they exist in a place called 'Purgatory'. I can recall the phrase...Pray for the souls in purgatory that they may enter Heaven sooner. As a result of this, at some point in my life, when I experienced something that I will call -----challenging maybe, I began using the 'title of this post' as my way of defining a particular event!!
Let me just say that there are many souls who have gained an earlier access as I offered up my trials and tribulations in life!! The latest?

A shot of cortisone in the ankle area! Actually, one dose of quick acting and one dose of later acting, preceded by an icy cold blast of 'instant wow! that's cold' and a shot of Novocaine!!
Having previously experienced shots of cortisone in my knee and finger[s], I was looking forward to the dramatic change it would bring! I am hoping that the long acting
dose kicks in because I still have the ankle/foot thing going on the same as pre-shot time.
I'm confident that the souls in purgatory are pleading my 'ankle thing' with the powers that Be.
A short aside...I now compare events by my knee aspiration/cortisone shot : my 'Jesus, Mary, and Joseph' shot in the knee[about 10 years ago]. That's what I think the waiting room may have heard from behind closed doors!!
The one before that[my first 'remove the fluid from my knee' 19 years ago] was the, 'Ooph! That was just like a labor pain...so where's the baby?' They just kinda became my own personal benchmarks of comparison.
Not being disrespectful in my choice of how to say a prayer, or clear the gates in one felled swoop!
Not complaining either. I know there are trials and tribulations on a global scale.
Feel free to help 'clear the gates' with me. [whether you believe or not]. Let me remind you that I have also referenced clapping for 'Tinkerbell's revival'. Whatever works for you!! TTFN

  • Good to find your blog. Sorry about the injection! Reminds me of when I had little radiotherapy tattoos last year ( so they can plot the treatment). I had about ten little marks done and I have never known such sharp pain. I said to the nurse ' I thought you said you used a pen'. She said;'that's what we tell you in advance so you don't panic!'
Enjoyed your blog and glad I popped in

  • Ouch! Why does the making it better feel so much worse?
And as far as I'm concerned, you can shout anything you want to.

  • Cortisone shots??! I've only had one for a bone spur. Before the doctore gave it to me he said, "Now... this is going to hurt like hell and I don't want to hear you screaming or saying anything uncouth." It did hurt like hell... and I didn't scream or say any naughty words. I smacked the doctor. I can't imagine going through that more than once. I'm so sorry you have to go through that. You are truly a miracle woman, Mare. You must have such pain, and your sense of humor is world class!!!

    I enjoyed your post!

  • I am so sorry to read about your cortisone shot. Brings back hurtful memories ... I have had two in my left wrist. The Dr first shot my wrist with novacane and I yelped when he did that...then the cortisone and i kept yelping and he kept shooting... (duh)

  • Oh sorry about your joints. I had bursitis in both shoulders over 2 years and had shots then...I hope yours starts to work soon or better. I too had some religious education and never understood "limbo"...

  • Those are beautiful stained glass windows.

I like your blog and your posts make good looking and reading.

ALso, I don't know if you are interested or not or if you have ever seen a Pileated Woodpecker, but I posted one on My Birds Blog this morning. It is our largest woodpecker and this is the first one I have seen here in 46 years.
