Another set of "stupid, stupider, stupidest" awards: And it goes to...
Deal or No Deal!!
To begin with, it debutted as a stupid show. To win, there is absolutely no talent involved, whatsoever! But Let's Make a Deal from the 60's set that precedent long ago. It merits 'stupid' points with the 26 scantily clad models in lingerie that begin the show with, "Hi Howie!!" And it was 'head-shakingly painful' to watch greedy people give up huge amounts of money while shouting, "I know I have the million right here in my case...so 'No Deal'!! Then they go home with $1.00.
Stupider: The show began having stunts like having a man cut off his goatee because the banker didn't like it. They brought in live animals, offers to sing on Broadway, celebrities with good luck wishes, AND when no one had actually won the million dollar prize...they added more million dollar prizes. And still, no one won. A drumroll please... lower the bar some more...
Stupidest: There were commercials advertising that 'Someone has won the million. Don't miss the new season's opening show." There were preview clips showing a woman closing in on the prize. Before a commercial, they told us...23 minutes to a winner...don't miss it!! The woman announced from the start that she knew the three cases with the most amount of money, and also would predict the amounts before the cases were opened...and be right. It exceeded bizarre- and guess what-
She won the million dollar prize!!! Can you believe it? I'm shocked!!
Just as I stated in a former post of, How much did my last tootsie roll cost? I have not had another tootsie roll, and I won't in the future, either.
And so, I am stating now that it's NO DEAL for me...and you can take that to the bank!
That is if the banks don't begin to fold again. It's getting kind of crazy...crazy...I can foresee a new set of awards beginning to appear: crazy, crazier, craziest!!
Have any nominees??

Never saw the show myself... too stupid. I did get a brief glimpse when I happened into the room and the tv had been left on that channel. Changed it real fast. Never watched a reality show either...too dumb. I do, however, like to read "dumb stupid" crooks accounts. lol

I guess what doesn't appeal to me is that the core premise is greed.
This was a fun post, Mare!

My sister and her husband who watch daytime t.v. from 7:30a.m. til they drop into bed at night. I can't imagine what it is that makes them so tired at the end of the day... unless, of course, it's the enormous amount of energy it would take to stay awake through hours of early morning cartoons (not Sesame Street or even Blues Clues... but the silly ones with squeaky mice running around in baggy shorts - pre Mickey))games shows, soaps, poker, and more game shows with vapid hostesses poured into shimmmery dresses. What a CRAZY way to waste a life!!
