Looking for Good News
I have learned to practice selective abandonment : letting go of managing some of the stuff in life in order to accomplish that which I can get done. There is a quote that says,
Don't let perfection be the enemy of the 'good'.
While many things can always be improved upon, sometimes it is just not necessary.
I broke a tooth and now have another crown. I had a very sore throat accompanied by an ear infection. That put me back on antibiotics and off my RA meds again.
The antibiotics knocked out my taste buds. Ice cream was merely cold...no flavor.
When you can't taste your food, it seems pointless to eat. Not complaining...just stating facts.
I was talking with a friend and said that it seems like most news is bad news. It is time for something good to happen. I'm ready.
The point of this entry: selective abandonment, and my blog became idle...again.
My question to anyone who stops by...how do you get out of a funk? Suggestions? Do you have any good news to share? Come on...

Because I am physically able, I get out of a funk by getting a move on. I get busy, I get moving, whether through working or exercise walking.

I write about my feelings till I get feed up with my complaining and depressing then I decide it's time to do something-anything. Cleaning out a drawer or organizing my desk always helps move me to a better plane of thought. I know a friend who when she was down would call someone else who was needing encouragement and cheer them on. Look outside one's small world-service always helps. Even blogging can be a call for help...lol!

I love your little poster on math. I am not a therapist either, but I sure have found that seeing one has helped me with my problems. I get out my funk by having someone who listens to me. Sure, I have to pay her, but she listens, and even offers support. I hope you get over your funk. You've been through a lot lately. A good support system might just be the answer. Hugs.

How to get out of a funk? I guess I try to go out and see people. Like Linda I try to do a little exercise. Moving seems to help. Oh Mare... I'm sorry.

Do you like music? Listening to some of my favorite songs often helps me. Going for a walk outside is other thing I do when I am in a funk. I am not one that should be giving advice though, as I am currently in a funk along with you! I think it is the time of year ~ I only recently stumbled across your blog but I enjoy your writing. Have a good Sunday.
