Amen. I was at my son and DIL's home recently. I was there to help with their newborn and 2 yr old. My DIL's best friend was there. I walked into the living room and there the three of them were, my son, DIL & friend, all on their phones, not taking a call but on the internet or texting someone else. I wanted to shout "why don't you just put those down and talk to each other!"
Oh, how I would love undivided attention. It hardly exists any more, except maybe in a small group of "old people" like me. And then I have to confess I am pretty addicted to my smart phone, lap top and TV.
So true and, this is such an annoyance to me. I am a total computer nut but, whenever someone else is around I do not get on it. That is akin to dismissing the one(s) you're with in favor of the one(s) you are NOT with. Plain rude!
sometimes when my grandkids visit, I get on my computer and send them a message saying-your virtual grandmother is available to play with...lol! It works everytime.
Glinda is a leftie who is completely in her right mind. Her blog is intended to be a 'Flo'-ing series of musings, thoughts of the day, and life adventures that should make you smile.
Retired teacher...I enjoyed learning with the students.[5th grade- 18 years, 6th-2 years, 4th-4yrs, 3rd-3 yrs, 1st- 1 yr, Kdg- 2 yrs. I don't miss the stress or the paperwork! I miss interaction with learning and the kids' 'aha' moments. If you stop by, please leave a hello![in the form of a comment].

I do have to watch myself as I sometimes get too involved with watching my iPhone. Thank you for the reminder.
