Love nature. Always looking for entertainment ...like watching this one bulb poke out of the dirt and grow into such a beauty...right before our eyes. There are 4 flowers and two small ones in the center yet to bloom. I can't remember seeing a 6 flowered amaryllis, and this is a pink and white amaryllis. I had bought two bulbs in a grocery store and one said pink and the other said white. It was fun trying to guess what color it would be, and it turned out to be both. Flo has really marveled at the process. So now, we have planted the other bulb, and don't know what color we will get. I had mostly seen red ones and did grow a red one at Christmas this year.
We are easily amused and for $5.oo...how can you go wrong? These pictures are from my cell phone's camera. I really have to get serious about learning how to use the digital camera that I bought months ago.

Amaryllis are such fun. I haven't grown one for quite a while because we don't really have a good window here at home, but I used to grow them in my classroom/office at school with south facing windows.

I've never grown one, it looks beautiful. I read that smart phones are slowly replacing digital cameras, I use mine to take photos all the time now.

Wow! You really hit the jackpot. I love amaryllis! That color is just so gorgeous! The only thing I'd worry about is it toppling from the weight of the blooms. It might be a good idea to put a support on it if it looks too heavy.

Beautiful! A friend gave me 2 Amaryllises recently. They got so tall they toppled over. So I cut the stems and put the flowers in water. They lasted about a week extra.

Beautiful! My phone doesn't take photos & I'm in the same boat with a new camera I've neglected for 2-3 months now. Gotta get it fixed to shoot spring's beauty.

Good job! My mom keeps hers from year to year. She just put them in a closet when they are done blooming. She cuts back the foliage when it is dry. The next year she brings them out and starts watering and off they go again.
She said this year there was even a baby bulb produced.
