I got going...tag...you're it!!!
I finally got my act together, and made necessary deliveries to unknown friends. First I stopped at the local SPCA and gave them a bag of old towels and blankets that could be used for the animals. It doesn't always require money to help these furry friends. When they had a garage sale as a fund raiser during the summer, I was able to send along some things from my garage[ chairs, baskets, and more!] Yesterday, there was also a list of suggestions in their ad in the Sunday newspaper: dry food, paper towels, bleach, cat litter, anti-bacterial wipes, etc. Every little bit helps. I love animals.
Then I dropped off 3 bags of clothing that I certainly didn't need hanging around my closets anymore. Some were from when I was still working, others didn't fit, and then there was the pile of clothing that I really liked the colors or patterns, etc. but I have held onto them for years. It was time to let them go. There are many people who can put these to good use.
And finally, I stopped by the town hall to set up for the AARP Safe Driving Class that I will be teaching on Wed. and Thurs. I haven't done one in a year. I had a session scheduled with people signed up in Feb, and then I broke my leg! That certainly made it difficult to volunteer when plain ole' walking was a challenge. But I'm back! There are 29 people signed up, and I'm sure there will be some funny stories to share. Hopefully some bad driving habits will change... and some lives saved, too. Volunteer some time to a good cause. It's a positive contribution that costs no money and it's also good for you.
And there you have it!!!

You are wonderful, Mare. I will take your suggestions. It's good to remind us of what we can do every so often.
