Smile...for the camel's aching back!

Okay everybody...listen up!
For an administration trying to pull together the economy, a war, health care for everyone, and world peace [to name a few top priorities], it must be very discouraging to be constantly 'spoken about' as less than acceptable. I admire the way that the President has been able to weather the storm when it is always a high tide with a strong 'nay-saying' rip tide.
Whether or not you voted for Obama for President, the fact is that we can move forward faster if his every move is not scrutinized looking for a possible negative slant. Why must the Olympic 2016 games in Rio be debated as to whether the President helped or hurt the cause?
South America has never hosted the Olympics...EVER! We didn't lose anything...Rio finally gets to host the games. We still get to participate, and be so very proud of our athletes and our country.

actually it is the 2016 games. 2012 is in London!!!!!! woooooooot! and I agree about not scrutinizing the president so much, maybe if they stopped doing that so much they could all work together and fix some of the problems!

This was a no win situation for the President. If we had won the games, we would have heard for the next six years about how Obama's political Chicago friends were getting rich off of them.
But I will TRY to only say nice things about "those people".

Never truer words. Why can't we just work together instead of constantly opposing each other? Might get something done! I think Rio sounds like a cool place to have the Olympics. Can't wait to see them.

May your wishes come true my friend.
I was hoping when Obama was elected, tensions would ease. I was wrong.
So I'll just smile like Kay. :)

It had nothing to do with Obama, but I admire what he tried to do....

EVERYTHING anyone in the limelight does gets WAY more scrutiny from the media than it should.
In the time since the South Americans last hosted the Olympics (never), the USA has hosted...summer and winter...in LA (twice), Salt Lake City, Lake Placid (twice) Squaw Valley, and Atlanta that I can think of off the top of my head...hmmm. Why did we even think we should try?
