Lady Grace

When I adopted Gracie, or I should say...when Grace adopted me...her name was Lady. I was amazed by her ability to jump into my arms. And 'Amazing' became 'Amazing Grace', often called Gracie. She was more like a circus dog than a lady! And she had already given birth to a litter of daschunds!!
This energy packed poodle never ceases to amaze me when it comes to Flo. Flo [Mom] is a gentle spirit who never had a dog. They have developed such a strong bond which is good for both of them. Every morning begins for Mom with Gracie licking Flo's right hand [the one affected by the stroke]. Does Grace know that intuitively? After getting dressed and brushing her teeth, Flo calls Grace who then bounds into her lap...awaiting the ride into the living room. Here is that 'snapshot' in their daily routine.
After breakfast, they hang out together. Flo looks into those huge brown eyes and tells Gracie, "You're so good. And I love you."
Gracie gives hugs, too. It's fun to watch the two of them interact. And yet at the end of the day, Gracie leaves Mom's bed when she has fallen asleep, and sleeps next to me.
There's a lot of love in that little dog. She's pretty darned smart, and a great doorbell...or I should say 'watchdog'. She alerts us to anything that moves, or needs attention.
This 'little dawg' is certainly not perfect...she's been known to finish my coffee[ with creamer in it] when I've gotten up to go to the bathroom. So, she has me trained, to a degree. I have to spell certain things because she is very alert and ready for anything.

Flo and Grace.
Flo: A peaceful, gentle woman ...and Amazing Grace: a live wire faster than the speed of light!
It's a match. Opposites attract, right?
