Yipes! The Scent of Stripes!!

I was watching Dr. Oz and he made the suggestion that we have candy canes on hand for medicinal purposes. Unwrap some peppermint, have a taste, but then inhale the peppermint aroma into your nose. Google 'scent of peppermint' and click on 'Discovery Health' and you may be surprised at all of the many good uses. Peppermint oil has no calories!!
I usually avoid '60 Minutes' because their reports are often about war, fraud, and other depressing topics. However, 'The Gift of Endless Memory' was the featured report on 60 Minutes, and it was fascinating. They interviewed five people who demonstrated this phenonenom, and you can watch it online. Go to CBS.com...click on 'shows' ...click on 60 Minutes...click on watch episodes. It is listed as Pt 1 [17min] and Part 2 [17 min], and the brain's possibilities will astound you.
And there you have it.

  • lol. I watch 60 Minutes every Sunday, although I always MUTE the TV when a segment either disturbs or bores me. Love Andy Rooney.

I, too, saw those 2 segments about memory. Astounding and spellbinding!

  • I love peppermint tea and drink it daily. Like to smell the tea bag first-clears out the sinuses and is good for the upset tummy when needed.

  • I watched 60 Minutes and was blown away by it all. Since people always tell me that I have a remarkable memory, I can tell you I was humbled by it and will now have a snappy comeback for them!!!

Peppermint...aroma to me is better than the taste. Great to know that I may get as much benefit that way!!!

  • Wow!!!! And my friends call me "the Almanac" -- I remember a lot but I'm not even in their class. Actually, there's a lot I'd rather forget -- some memories are so painful that I'd rather forget them. Then again, I'd love that guy to look at my MRI. And yeah, I'm definitely OCD.

  • candy canes cannot be good for your sugar, I would think carbs would be preferable, therefore, in my home we like to inhale a Bud.

  • I saw that segment on memory, too. I sure wish I had a smidgeon of their memory capacity. I can't remember what I did yesterday.

Peppermint? I LOVE peppermint. I'm glad I now have an excuse to have it.
